Want to Make Beats?
I’ve found some really amazing (and cheap!) music creation software called Sonic Producer.
I’ve been listening to hip hop and rap since I was little. Run DMC and NWA were my original favorites back in the day. I always honed in on the amazing beats and always tried to beat box them or tap them out with pencils on my desk at school. I always dreamed I could get into being a producer but the truth was I couldn’t just buy a studio or do a makeshift one in my room at home. I had some old keyboards but I couldn’t even record the sound to a disc or anything. I almost sidelined my dream but then I stumbled across some amazing software.
I couldn’t believe that what I thought was going to cost me hundreds if not thousands in equipment could all be contained in one piece of software. I was really blown away. My computer turned into my production machine. The software was so easy to use I could put those beats that had been stuck in my heads for years into action! Making MP3s from this software so I could put them on my music site only took one click.
It really is as simple as it looks. Of course over time you’ll be able to hear more and more of the samples and sounds as you continue to use it like I did. At first I just picked a few randomly and the loop actually worked! Down the road though I was able to listen to more and find ones that were more perfectly in line with what I wanted to create. There are so many to choose from it really gets better every day that I use it.
My experience with music creation software was really limited. I could mess around on the keyboard and play some stuff but I never was able to actually make beats using those. So when I found Sonic Producer I was really a total newbie. Lucky for me they had a bunch of video tutorials that taught me how to translate the beats in my head into loops and full songs.
Some people are really good with computers and just know how to use this stuff automatically. Take a look at the screenshot below it shows most of the basic controls of the beat machine:
