I am purchasing a PowerMac G5 in order to do my music on it. I am running ProTools software on it, as well as Propellerhead’s Reason music composition software…Is a Dual 2.0GHz processor enough or should I go with a Dual 2.4 or 2.6 processor?

I’ve tried fruity loops and I really don’t like the work flow of the program, but I’m digging its presets kicks, drums and its instruments. I’ve tried garage band and I love how its set up, but its instrument its horrible. I’ve been looking for a new program can anyone recommend me one?

What’s the best music notation program for composing orchestral music?

Hi everyone. I used to be a dedicated violin student at my university, but I came to the realization that my passion is in composition, not performance. I’ve studied music theory, but I’m no whiz at it. I want to try to sharpen my music composition skills and buy music notation software. I want to buy a program where the program will play back for me what I put into it so I can listen for any mistakes, and if it actually sounds like an orchestra with the real timbres of the specific instruments, that would be fantastic. Something easy to learn would be nice, but not necessary. Thanks!
